Welcome Home to the Town of South Palm Beach! 

 

Please stop by Town Hall to meet us – Staff is honored to be of service to you and the Town.  In the meantime, please let this web page serve as a brief introduction to South Palm Beach.

The Town of South Palm Beach is a beautiful community of 1,400 permanent and up to 1700 seasonal residents, located in Palm Beach County on a barrier island between the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Intracoastal Waterway to the west.  South Palm Beach is approximately 5/8’s of a mile long, and is bounded by the Town of Palm Beach to the north, and the Town of Lantana to the south.  The primary focus of the community is to protect the residential nature of the Town, and to maintain its high quality of life by providing a myriad of services to the citizenry of the Town. The Town of South Palm Beach was incorporated in 1955, and operates under the Town Council/ Town Manager form of Government.

 

Town Council

Town Council meetings are regularly held on the second Tuesday of each month in the Council Chambers, 3577 South Ocean Blvd., at 2:00 P.M.  Residents are urged to attend and take part in the discussions.

Town Staff

The staff at Town Hall includes Jamie Titcomb, Town Manager; Yude Davenport, MMC, Town Clerk/Assistant to the Town Manager; Mark Garrison, PBSO Sergeant; Gianne Hortance, Building Services Administrator, Cameron Lowe, Building Services Administrator Assistant; and Arvidio Aviles, Maintenance/Custodian. 

Other Officials that serve the Town of South Palm Beach are as follows: Glen J. Torcivia, Town Attorney; Ron Bennett, Town Accountant and Mike Crisafulle, Chief Building Official.

Town Hall hours of operation are 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.  Monday through Friday

Town Hall is closed for all Federal holidays.

 

Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (District 19)

Sergeant Mark Garrison is an honor to continue serving the residents, businesses, and visitors of this great community.   His service philosophy is rooted in problem solving/community oriented policing, beginning with a strong bond between law enforcement and our residents. This, along with being transparent and accessible, is paramount in addressing our community’s needs, expectations, and preserving its quality of life.

Our deputies are fully committed to providing a professional standard of service. Employing traditional and innovative strategies tailored to meet everyday challenges and specific needs. Some of our crime prevention and community resources include Aviation, Crime Scene, K-9, Investigations, Marine Patrol & Enforcement, Traffic & Motor units, Community Policing, ATVs, Bike Units, Emergency Response Teams, and a high-profile officer presence to deter crimes of opportunity.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue 

The Town, through an Interlocal Agreement, contracts with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue for all fire/rescue and ambulance services that provide protection 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days per year. As a public service, they are also available every Monday between 10:30 A.M-12:00 P.M. (excluding Federal holidays) to give free blood pressure checks at Town Hall.

 

City of West Palm Beach Water Service

The City of West Palm Beach Water Public Utilities Department provides service to the residents of the Town of South Palm Beach in accordance with Interlocal Agreement.

Waste Management  - Garbage, Recycling, Vegetation & Trash Pickup Schedule

Townhouse, condominium, and household garbage collection days are Mondays and Wednesdays. Recycling collection day is Monday.  Please call Waste Management at (561) 547-4000 and request Customer Service for missed pick-ups, etc.

 

Garbage and vegetation

Garbage is defined as usual household refuse. Vegetation may consist of fruit fallen from trees, grass clippings, palm fronds, tree limbs, fruit attached to limbs, loose leaves, clippings, etc., and must be put in bags or garbage cans. No container weighing over fifty pounds or limbs longer than five feet in length will be picked up. Garbage cannot be mixed with vegetation.

 

Recycling

Waste Management provides recycling containers to use when recycling. Please use the containers according to the information below:

Blue Bin: All aluminum and steel cans, foil, glass bottles and jars, milk and juice cartons, drink boxes and, plastic containers #1-7 can be recycled. No plastic bags or Styrofoam.

Yellow Bin: Newspapers, inserts, magazines, catalogs and unwanted mail, telephone books, cardboard boxes, i.e. cereal, tissue and beverage boxes. Flattened, corrugated cardboard boxes less than 3 ft. by 3 ft. by 3 ft. will be accepted. Recycle containers are provided by Waste Management.

 

Special trash pickup (“bulk”)

This category includes old appliances, water heaters, furniture, a maximum of two tires (off rims) per year, and miscellaneous items.

Hazardous waste such as paint; motor oil; combustible items (propane tanks, gas cans, etc.); corrosives and toxicants will not be picked up. For proper disposal of these materials, please call Waste Management at (561) 547-4000.

Pets

Dogs and cats may be walked as long as the animal is under control of the owner by means of a leash, cord, chain or other similar restraint. At no time shall dogs or cats be allowed the freedom of roaming the Town. Feces must be picked up according to County Ordinance #98-22. 

 

Sea Turtles

The Town is home to a variety of sea turtles. Turtle season starts March 1st and ends October 31st.  Residents and guests are reminded to refrain from interfering with these gentle creatures, as such disrupts the balance of nature.

 

Palm Tran Connection- Para Transit

Home Business Registration

Residents operating a business from their home must register in the Town of South Palm Beach Building Department.  The following items are required in order to register: a completed registration form, a photostat copy of a valid Palm Beach County Business Tax receipt, and a copy of the Business Owner’s Driver’s License.    More information about registration and permits can be found on the South Palm Beach Website (www.southpalmbeach.com) or by contacting the Building Department at (561)588-8889 or e-mail: permits@southpalmbeach.com
