RIP CURRENTS WARNING!

The Town of South Palm Beach would like to remind all residents and visitors to use caution when entering the ocean due to dangerous rip current conditions.

Current beach and surf conditions can be viewed through the Palm Beach County Beach Conditions Report.

Rip currents are powerful channels of water that can quickly pull swimmers away from shore. Even experienced swimmers can be affected.

Please follow these important safety tips:

• Swim near a lifeguard whenever possible
• Never swim alone
• Pay attention to posted warning flags and beach conditions
• If caught in a rip current, remain calm and swim parallel to the shoreline until you are out of the current, then swim back to shore
• Call 9-1-1 immediately if someone appears to be in distress

Residents are encouraged to exercise extreme caution, especially children and inexperienced swimmers. Stay safe and enjoy our beautiful beach responsibly.
