MGO Information

MGO

Welcome to My Government Online

My Government Online (MGO) is a convenient platform for contractors, residents, and the like to access information about projects in Town. Please refer to the MGO page on the right to create a logon.

Contractors need to create a profile to submit and track job progress. Please make sure to select the Town of South Palm Beach as the jurisdiction before doing so. After creating a profile, it is recommended to download the app on your mobile device for a better user experience. One key feature is the ability to schedule inspections from the convenience of your mobile device.

Non-contractors also have access to job information as well! By creating a Guest profile, the public can have access to job information at their fingertips. This feature is especially useful for homeowners and board members who have open permits. By searching their respective permits, the citizenry has access to prevalent information concerning job progress such as notes from the building department, task lists, fee information and more!

If you wish to remain anonymous while using the Guest profile, you can use the following username and password:

***Please Note: Search results may yield less information as opposed to creating a personal profile. Personal profiles are correlated with contractor profiles through phone number. As long as the guest phone number on the application matches on the contractor application, the guest is able to see the information mentioned above.**

If there are any questions or concerns regarding the portal, please feel free to contact the Building Department via email (with screenshots of the error message preferably) at permits@southpalmbeach.com and/or phone at (561)588-8889.   During non-business hours, feel free to contact their support team via the MGO home page.

Frequently asked questions:

  • Why is there an error message that populates when I attempt to make a new user profile?
    • There is an existing profile and you need to create a new password by clicking “forgot password”.
  • Do I need to create a new profile if I use MGO at another municipality?
    • No. You just need to select Town of South Palm Beach as the jurisdiction.
  • Can I submit the permit information with one PDF?
    • No. With the exception of plans (you can scan all the plans together), you must submit each document separately (ex: noc.pdf, building permit.pdf,etc.)
  • Do I still need to have the permit packet on the job site?
    • Once the plan review has been completed, you must print the documents and post them on the job site.
  • Can the Building Department print the permit packet?
    • Yes. The first cardstock permit card is free and the packet price is 15¢ per page.  A duplicate cardstock permit card is $20.00.
  • Do we have a choice between MGO and in person permit submissions?
    • No, but if it is your first time we will happily help you create a profile and show you how to submit the documents.
  • I have plans larger than 11x14. Can I submit those in person and the rest online?
    • No, they need to be digitized and uploaded in MGO.
  • Why won’t my payment go through on the MGO portal?
    • We are working on providing an online payment method. In the meantime, payment will still need to be made in person with either cash or check.
  • Why do I only see “register permit” on MGO’s website?/Why am I being asked unexpected questions after selecting “register permit”?
    • You may be in the wrong jurisdiction. Please make certain that you picked “Town of South Palm Beach” as your jurisdiction and NOT “Palm Beach County”.
